49. Scouting Report. LB. Appalachian State. Akeem Davis-Gaither. Pick Analysis. 3. player

One huge disappointment from the 2020 Scouting Combine was the fact that Akeem Davis-Gaither was unable to participate in the drills due to having foot surgery to repair a stress fracture. Listed at 6-2 and 215 pounds, Davis-Gaither is an undersized linebacker but was a freak on the field for Appalachian-State.

He was all over the field, racking up 197 tackles and 6.5 sacks for the team in his final two collegiate campaigns. Should he have put up some freakish numbers at the Combine, he might have been able to sneak into the second round.

In the end, this could be good news for Green Bay as he’s still there at No. 94 for the taking. He’s a great pick for the Packers as he can be used as an inside linebacker next to Christian Kirksey in their 3-4 defense. In that role, he can use his athleticism and instincts to make splash plays in the NFL, just as he did in the NCAA.

DL. Jason Strowbridge. player. 838. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. North Carolina. 4

With the 136th pick in the fourth round, the Packers add a player capable of lining up as a defensive end in their three-man line. Jason Strowbridge checked in at 6-4 and 275 pounds and showed a solid mix of power and speed by recording a 4.89-second time in the 40-yard dash and 26 bench reps.

He used that mixture to record 22 tackles for a loss and 10.5 sacks in his career. He could be an eventual starter for Green Bay with the ability to be an impact player at a position that doesn’t always get the credit it deserves.
