49. Scouting Report. TE. Florida Atlantic. Harrison Bryant. 5. player. Pick Analysis

The Packers tried three times to get a star tight end and it just didn’t work. They went from Jared Cook to Martellus Bennett and finally Jimmy Graham. Cook was the best of the bunch and even had a huge catch in the 2016 playoffs to finish off the Dallas Cowboys comeback attempt. However, he couldn’t stay healthy so they moved on.

Now, they said goodbye to Graham this offseason and take a whole new approach here by landing a day-three prospect with some great traits to work with. With the 175th pick, they grab Harrison Bryant from Florida Atlantic.

Not known for his ability to play in-line, Bryant is a solid weapon in the passing game. He’s smooth in his routes and brings passes in like his hands were vacuums. He could be a steal here considering his upside.

6. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. UCF. Nevelle Clarke. 886. CB

At pick 192 in the sixth round — their first of three picks this round — the Packers land UCF cornerback Nevelle Clarke. In recent years, Green Bay has added a lot of talent to the secondary but they can use some depth, which leads to this selection.

Clarke isn’t known as an overly strong player, which isn’t surprising considering his thin frame (6-1, 179 pounds) but he’s a smart player than can find the ball. There’s a lot to like about his play and he could develop into a good third corner down the line.
