4. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Tight End. Brycen Hopkins. 848. Purdue

With Austin Hooper now on the Browns after a productive career with Atlanta, the Falcons traded a second-round pick to get Hayden Hurst from the Ravens. Despite that, their other current options at the tight end position are Luke Stocker and Jaeden Graham. Subsequently, the Falcons would be served well to address the position in the 2020 draft, albeit in a shallow class.

Every player in the 2020 tight end class has flaws but Brycen Hopkins has the tools that Atlanta would love to develop at the position. He’s a natural pass-catcher with impressive route-running and cuts in his breaks. Furthermore, he can use his big frame to win at the catch point in 50-50 situations.

Hopkins, unfortunately, has his issues as he’s not a blocker whatsoever right now and has endured issues with drops. Despite this, he has the requisite tools and polished game as a receiving threat to be well worth a fourth-round pick for the Falcons.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 7. player. Linebacker. Michigan. Khaleke Hudson. 811

When a team like the Falcons gets into the seventh round, they are looking for players that can fill situational roles and be molded into something they aren’t necessarily finished products of as of right now. That’s where Khaleke Hudson would come into play.

Weighing in at 224 pounds at the NFL Combine, Hudson is somewhat of a tweener. However, he moves incredibly well and is a great athlete that has tremendous speed. The issue is that he moved all over the defense in college and, as such, has no defined NFL position. Given his athletic traits, though, Atlanta could bring him in as a special teams player early on and try to develop his tools into being a usable piece on the defense.
