Las Vegas Raiders: 5 Top targets with No. 12 pick in 2020 NFL Draft
By Dan Parzych
No one needs to explain just how much frustration Derek Carr must have been feeling in the middle of the 2018 season when the Raiders decided to part ways with Amari Cooper since he was the top wideout in the passing game.
Heading into the draft, Las Vegas is clearly in need of help at the wide receiver position with Zay Jones and Tyrell Williams leading the way.
Sadly, not even the signing of Nelson Agholor in free agency should make the Raiders feel confident in their problems at receiver being solved, which means their first pick of the draft could be the perfect opportunity to land a wideout.
For months, Alabama’s Henry Ruggs III has been viewed as one of the top wide receivers from this year’s draft class, and his impressive results from the 40-yard dash (4.27) at this year’s combine helped his stock rise a little bit.
During his final two seasons with the Crimson Tide, Ruggs caught a total of 86 passes for 1,487 yards to go along with 18 touchdowns, which many not seem like the most impressive numbers, but also is still impressive all things considered.
As previously mentioned, the performance by Ruggs at the combine with his blazing speed caught the attention of numerous teams in need of help at wideout, and depending on whether some of the other receivers are already on the board, this could be a great opportunity for Las Vegas.
