Las Vegas Raiders: 5 Top targets with No. 12 pick in 2020 NFL Draft
By Dan Parzych
Wide receiver is certainly one of the biggest needs for the Raiders entering the draft expected to be addressed right away, but with two picks in the first round, don’t be surprised if cornerback earns serious consideration as well.
Las Vegas using the No. 12 pick on a cornerback may seem like a long shot since they would arguably be better off waiting until at least No. 19, but if they do decide to make it their top priority, C.J. Henderson could be a strong candidate.
Henderson isn’t going to solve all the inconsistent play the Raiders dealt with at cornerback in 2019, but at least the Florida product has the impressive quickness and man coverage skills to potentially develop into a top NFL cornerback.
Plus, with Las Vegas convincing Eli Apple to come on board in free agency, the veteran’s presence could help Henderson from a developmental perspective, and take a little extra pressure off during his first season.
Over the last few weeks, Henderson has been one of the most difficult players to determine potential landing spots for in the draft since his stock seems to change each week.
But if the Raiders do in fact end up expressing interest in Henderson, and the fear he may not be available for their second pick of the first round, using the No. 12 pick on the cornerback could be their best option.
