Pick Analysis. Alabama. Jedrick Wills Jr. . 4. player. 829. Scouting Report. Offensive Lineman

More than ever, Detroit will need to make sure Matthew Stafford receives the proper protection from his offensive line moving forward after missing part of last season due to a back injury.

Even if Stafford is back at full strength by the time training camp rolls around, the back injury was serious enough to the extent the Lions are most likely going to feel somewhat concerned until he suits up for an actual game.

With that being said, the good news for Detroit is this another scenario in which they should have little trouble adding another effective player to the offensive line at some point in the draft, even if it happens to be one of the later rounds.

But of course, since the Lions do have the No. 3 pick at the moment, it only makes sense to consider the possibility of using the selection on one of the top offensive linemen from the draft in Jedrick Wills Jr.

There are no guarantees when it comes to the NFL Draft, but based off his potential following an impressive career at Alabama, Wills appears to be the kind of prospect that should easily be selected in the top 10.

As for whether the Lions will decide to pull off a surprise by providing better protection for Stafford with Wills at No. 3, well Detroit fans are going to find out soon enough.
