Ohio State. Chase Young. 2. Pick Analysis. Defensive End. 812. Scouting Report. player

First off, let the record show that Detroit will most likely only be in position to land Chase Young if the Redskins decide Dwayne Haskins isn’t their best option at starting quarterback, and decide to go with someone like Tua Tagovailoa.

If Washington does end up sticking with Haskins, which could very well happen since the former Ohio State star has only been in the league for one season, Young would basically be a lock for the No. 2 selection to improve the Redskins’ defense.

However, the NFL Draft is always filled with plenty of unexpected surprises, and if Washington does end up pulling the unthinkable by going quarterback with their first-round pick, this would set Detroit up to land arguably the top defender from this year’s class.

Young’s 26.5 sacks from 25 games over the last two seasons with the Buckeyes are just one of many reasons he is considered the top defensive player heading into the draft, and one can only imagine the kind of impact he’s going to make in the NFL.

For obvious reasons, Young would be considered the top target for the Lions if the Redskins weren’t standing in their way with the pick before, but just for the purposes of Detroit possibly getting lucky, it only seems fair to have him on this list.
