The Green Bay Packers don’t have to spend big to find contributors. Here are five bargain players still available in the second wave of NFL free agency.

Even after signing a few key free agents this offseason, the Green Bay Packers could stand to add one or two more players at positions of need. And now that the initial onslaught of free agency is over, the second wave of more affordable free agents will slowly start falling off the board.

The Packers don’t have a ton of deficiencies on their roster, especially after signing receiver Devin Funchess, linebacker Christian Kirksey and right tackle Rick Wagner, but a few positions still lack desirable depth.

For instance, cornerback is a sneaky need that should probably be addressed sooner than later. Even with Kevin King and Jaire Alexander as the team’s top two options, the depth behind them is severely lacking, especially when considering King is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in 2021.

Backup cornerback Chandon Sullivan showed some nice moments in 2019, but can he be expected to step into a major role this coming season? Josh Jackson has yet to live up to his second-round potential and is quickly approaching the ‘bust’ label. Meanwhile, Tramon Williams — the team’s starting nickel corner last season — remains an unrestricted free agent.

Even with only around $10.9 million in available cap space, the Packers could find a few ways to manipulate the cap. They’ll need around $10 million to sign their draft picks later this month, which means the amount of money they have to spend is wearing thin.

Still, Green Bay can release players and restructure contracts in order to make room for any new signings. With that in mind, here are five potential bargain targets still available as we enter the second wave of NFL free agency.
