The Philadelphia Eagles got their cornerback and now get aggressive to address the hole at wide receiver in this 7-round 2020 mock draft.

Coming into the 2020 offseason, there were two big needs circled for the Philadelphia Eagles. First, they needed to get a No. 1 cornerback after the immense issues the team struggled with in the secondary last season. Beyond that, the team needed to go after a wide receiver to both get a young game-changer and to add depth to the pass-catching group.

In trading for Darius Slay, the Eagles now have the cornerback they needed, also locking him up to a long-term deal. But now Doug Pederson‘s club needs to go about finding weapons for Carson Wentz in the passing offense that he can grow and thrive with. And in the 2020 NFL Draft, that might necessitate getting highly aggressive.

So how aggressive should the Eagles get? Here’s how things play out for Philadelphia if they make an aggressive move up in the first round for a wide receiver in a new 7-round 2020 mock draft in early April.

TRADE ALERT: Eagles trade No. 21 and 53 to 49ers for No. 13, 2021 fourth-round pick

The Philadelphia Eagles have to be aggressive to get a wide receiver. While someone such as Justin Jefferson or even Laviska Shenault Jr. could end up at No. 21, they need to find a sure bet. So with the San Francisco 49ers looking to find more draft capital with their two first-round picks, San Francisco trades down from No. 13 and the Eagles move up to get a stud.

For whatever reason, the draft stock of Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has slightly slipped throughout the process. Despite his immense productivity for the Crimson Tide, teammate Henry Ruggs III and Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb have jumped Jeudy on many boards.

But with what the Eagles need in terms of pass-catchers, Jeudy is perfect. Assuming that Alshon Jeffery remains happy enough to stay on the team, he’s a big-bodied possession player. Meanwhile, DeSean Jackson (if healthy) is a deep threat while the tight ends are versatile. Jeudy is a do-it-all threat that can line up all over the field and make plays. He’s a pristine route-runner who has the physical tools to make big plays.

Philadelphia could add Jeudy to the mix and start him right away. While some will say that he has issues with drops, they are not overly concerning. He’s well worth giving up a second-round pick for, given the need on the offense and what Jeudy can bring to the table in Year 1.
