Pick Analysis. Liberty. Antonio Gandy-Golden. player. Scouting Report. 57. 1. Wide Receiver

No Chicago Bears prospect list would be complete without adding a small school prospect. Pace loves scouting those prospects and loves finding diamonds in the rough.

Antonio Gandy-Golden is a prospect that fits Pace’s idea of small school prospects. He may come from a small school but he has big-time skills.

As a freshman in 2017, Gandy-Golden made 21 catches for 315 yards and three touchdowns. In 2018, he had a breakout season. He made 69 catches for 1,066 yards and 10 touchdowns. The following season, he racked up 71 catches for 1,037 yards and 10 touchdowns. In 2019, he cemented himself as a true prospect with 79 catches for 1,396 yards and another 10 touchdowns. His yardage in 2019 ranked fifth in the nation.

Gandy-Golden has good size (6-4, 223 pounds) to do damage in the NFL. He has great agility and can get to difficult passes. Once he grabs the pass, he is physical enough to get away from the defender and gain more yards. Furthermore, his physicality at the line of scrimmage helps him get past press coverage. It also helps him make great catches in traffic.

Gandy-Golden isn’t a burner (he ran a 4.6-second 40-yard dash) but he has good “sneaky” speed. His quickness allows him to surprise defenders and creates separation. He does a good job of evading the first tackle attempt and should be a deep threat on the professional level.
