Denver Broncos add weapons on both sides in 7-round 2020 mock draft
By Lucas Schuh
Though the Broncos took Fulton at No. 15 in this mock draft, there’s still a need for help at cornerback. That’s where someone like Troy Pride Jr. could come into the mix and help Denver’s defense.
While at Notre Dame, Pride showed off his ability in man coverage and continued to do so in practice at the Senior Bowl. He’s speedy and physical with great fluidity, all of which makes him valuable. Unfortunately, his ball skills are lackluster right now and he can struggle when asked to drop into off-man coverage where he looks largely uncomfortable.
Even still, looking at the Broncos roster, Pride is the type of player who could really supplement Bouye and Fulton. He would give the defensive back group a ton of versatility and simply make this group more effective.
Other Players Available: Chase Claypool, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Nick Harris
Adding Glasgow in free agency will undoubtedly improve the offensive line in Denver. At the same time, however, the Broncos lost Connor McGovern this offseason as well, who was a good center in the Mile High City. That leaves them in need of a player such as Nick Harris.
Throughout his career at Washington, Harris proved to be a terrific center who performed his best when moving and working in space. He’s a strong player who can blow up defensive tackles in double teams and also uses his hands quickly and effectively on the interior. Though he needs work in pass-sets, he is a starting-caliber NFL center.
The Broncos need an immediate replacement for McGovern and, while Harris isn’t immediately that type of player, he can come in and be a serviceable starter with high-upside development ahead of him.
Other Players Available: K.J. Hill, Darrell Taylor, Van Jefferson
