Pick Analysis. player. 2. 48. Scouting Report. Quarterback. Alabama. Tua Tagovailoa

Current Pick: No. 14

No football fan ever could have imagined the Buccaneers of all teams would end up winning the Brady sweepstakes this offseason, and there is no question that Tampa Bay deserves to be considered a top contender in the NFC with the six-time Super Bowl winner on board.

But whether the Buccaneers want to hear it or not, Brady may only have one or two solid years left in him after seeing the results from last season.

Knowing this, Tampa Bay may find themselves in a position where they need to think about their quarterback situation once Brady does decide to eventually call it a career sooner rather than later.

If the Buccaneers were to consider finding Brady’s successor from this year’s draft, just imagine the kind of position Tagovailoa could be in spending a year or two learning from one of the best the game has ever seen.

As much as the Alabama star quarterback would love to be thrown in the mix right away on a team in need of a starting quarterback, patience can sometimes be key at the NFL level.

By spending a little extra time to learn and develop, Tagovailoa could one day develop into the long-term option Tampa Bay needs under center after Jameis Winston turned out to be far from the answer.
