The New York Jets have a lot of work to do to improve their roster and they cover a lot of ground in that endeavor in this 7-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft

After a slow start to the 2019 season, the New York Jets found their rhythm. They began the year with a record of just 1-4 but before the year was done, they had reeled off seven wins to post a record of 7-9.

That may not sound like much, but after winning no more than five games in each of the past three seasons, it was progress. Not only that, but they were able to post a winning record with second-year quarterback Sam Darnold under center.

Darnold, who missed three games was 7-6 for the Jets, who were 0-3 with him sidelined. Darnold also showed growth in just about every phase of the game. While playing the same number of games he did as a rookie, he saw his yardage increase from 2,865 to 3,024. He also had more touchdowns and fewer interceptions going from a 17-15 ratio to a 19-13 this past year.

Again, these aren’t the final stats this team expects out of Darnold but considering the lack of talent he had around him, the growth is highly encouraging. And now the next step for Gang Green will be putting the weapons around Darnold that he needs to reach his ceiling.

That’s exactly what they look to do in this 7-round mock draft where they land several potential starters in each day of the draft — starting with a game-changing wide receiver that can grow alongside their franchise signal-caller.
