NFL Power Rankings 2020: Texans, Rams shake things up after Brandin Cooks trade
By Dan Parzych
A few months ago, the thought of the Washington Redskins selecting another quarterback early on in the draft sounded ridiculous to even consider since Dwayne Haskins did show some potential towards the end of his rookie campaign in 2019.
But also, the Arizona Cardinals from a year ago with Kyler Murray are the perfect example that a team can go quarterback in the first round for a second year in a row if they truly believe it would be an upgrade at the position.
With all due respect to the former Ohio State star since Haskins could still end up developing into an effective starter in the NFL, but if someone like Tua Tagovailoa has the potential to be the better option, Washington needs to at least consider the possibility.
After winning just three games all of last season, the Redskins currently hold the second overall pick in the upcoming draft, meaning they could be in the perfect position to select Tagovailoa if the Bengals decide to go Burrow at No. 1.
Even if Washington decides to stick it out with Haskins for another year since once again it’s unfair to determine his true potential after only one year, the good news is Chase Young would basically seem like a lock at No. 2 if this were to be the case.
