Could the New York Giants end up being a surprise contender in the NFC during the 2019 season now that Daniel Jones has some starting experience under his belt?

One of the biggest surprises from early on last season was the decision by the Giants to replace Eli Manning with Daniel Jones after only two games since some of the early struggles weren’t exactly the two-time Super Bowl winner’s fault.

On a positive note, at least the surprise starting experience as a rookie should benefit Jones and New York in the long run to help the team become relevant in the NFC once again.

Like most young quarterbacks in their first NFL season, Jones experienced struggles in a few different areas, but also the Giants knew last year was more so of a learning experience.

Now that Jones will feel more comfortable entering his sophomore NFL season, it will be up to New York to take advantage of the upcoming draft to build a better offense around their hopeful franchise quarterback.

Jones is certainly fortunate to have a young running back on the rise to work with in Saquon Barkley, but as far as the offensive line and receiving corps is concerned, this is where the Giants need some improvement.

Otherwise, New York will only risk holding Jones back from reaching his true potential in 2020 instead of taking another positive step in the right direction.
