2020 NFL Mock Draft: Redskins make QB splash, Giants grab star receiver
By Randy Gurzi
The Washington Redskins make a huge splash at quarterback and the New York Giants grab a star wide receiver in the latest 3-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft
Right now, we are facing some unprecedented times. With sports all around us shut down due to concerns over COVID-19, the NFL is going ahead with their scheduled draft — but it won’t be in the same format we are all used to.
In years past, the NFL Draft has become one of the largest events in sports. What we used to simply see on an ESPN sports ticker has now turned into a live event that spans three days — starting on a Thursday in Prime Time and lasting until Saturday evening.
The show has also traveled the globe, going from Chicago to Philadelphia to Dallas and Nashville. This season, it was supposed to take place in Las Vegas, the new home of the Raiders who are set to debut in Nevada this year.
However, due to the global pandemic, the league is now hosting a virtual draft where teams will be making their selections in their hometowns. Sadly, players coming into the league won’t be given the chance to shake hands with — or bro-hug — commissioner Roger Goodell as they see their dreams realized. It will be a crazy time and one we will remember forever.
As for the picks themselves, we once again look ahead to the first three rounds with our 2020 NFL Mock Draft, only this time there’s a little more intrigue as the Washington Redskins decide to make a splash with the No. 2 pick and the New York Giants grab a wide receiver at No. 4.
And with all that said, the Cincinnati Bengals are on the clock at No. 1 overall.
