1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniforms

Back in 1997, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a huge change when they ditched their creamsicle uniforms and white helmets in exchange for their pewter and red look that they wore during their Super Bowl win with Jon Gruden as the head coach. The uniforms were well-received and they stuck with the look until 2014 when they decided to make a rather big change.

While the color scheme stayed the same, the Bucs decided to increase the size of the flag on their helmet to comical proportions. They also went with some alarm-clock numbers which were never liked by the fans — and it’s easy to see why. On top of that, they added shoulder stripes, which have been out of style since the late 1990s craze that took over a few team’s styles.

Fans were happy to hear there was a change coming and there were even some who hoped for a white helmet so they could go back to the creamsicle look every now and then. That ended up not happening, but they did do a nice job of cleaning up their look.

The Bucs stuck with the pewter helmets but ditched the ugly alarm clock numbers. They also said goodbye to the shoulder stripes that were incredibly dated and added a nice all-pewter color rush.

It wasn’t a complete turn back of the clock but they went back to what made fans happy which is a smart move considering that’s who buys the merchandise.
