The Dallas Cowboys have their eyes on several players at No. 17 but decided instead to drop down and address their offensive line while adding more picks.

With just days remaining until the 2020 NFL Draft, the speculation about what teams are going to do is running wild — and that’s especially true of the Dallas Cowboys.

There are rumors going on about who they might be interested in with names such as Clemson cornerback A.J. Terrell, LSU edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson, and Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray being some of the names the front office is reportedly enamored with.

Out of those names, Murray is one that becomes a head-scratcher. Dallas currently has a lot invested at the linebacker position with Jaylon Smith, Leighton Vander Esch and Sean Lee on the roster. Looking at that position could mean they’re concerned about a neck injury that ended LVE’s season last year, but even so, this feels like too high for a linebacker considering their many other needs.

And with there being so many holes to fill on the roster, Dallas is in a great position to drop down and add more picks to round out their depth chart. In this mock, that’s exactly what they do as they start the 2020 draft by dropping down 13 spots as they do a deal with their new head coach, Mike McCarthy‘s old team, the Green Bay Packers.

In addition to their first pick, Dallas throws in one of their two picks in the fifth for the 30th overall selection and the 62nd in Round 2. And with that being said, the Cowboys are on the clock near the end of the first round.
