2020 NFL Mock Draft: Unexpected first-round pick for each team
By Dan Parzych
It’s still mind-blowing that Tom Brady is going to be suiting up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 after everything the future Hall of Famer has done over the years for the New England Patriots.
But on a positive note, at least Brady will be joining an offense already loaded with talent at wide receiver in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, meaning the Buccaneers are in great position to become an immediate contender in the NFC.
With all this in mind, Tampa Bay obviously doesn’t need to go with a wide receiver in the first round since there are plenty of other positions to focus on improving, but if CeeDee Lamb still happened to be available, this would seem too good of an opportunity to turn down.
Rightfully so, Lamb is considered one of the best receivers from this year’s class, and his numbers alone from the previous two seasons at Oklahoma make it seem like he will be making a similar impact at the NFL level in no time.
As impressive as it was to watch Lamb haul in 127 passes in 27 games dating back to the 2018 season, the 25 touchdown catches stand out the most, and shows why a selection like this would be a gift to Brady.
Even more exciting, with the Buccaneers already in great shape thanks to Evans and Godwin, Lamb would benefit in a big way seeing additional passes thrown in his direction with opposing defenses focusing most of their attention on the other two.
