58. . Quarterback. Washington Commanders. Justin Herbert. 2. player

The thought of the Washington Redskins going with a quarterback in the first round for the second year in a row sounds highly unlikely since Dwayne Haskins still has plenty of potential and deserves the opportunity to prove himself after last year.

Even though Haskins didn’t exactly display the most impressive numbers as a rookie in 2019, the Redskins in general didn’t exactly put the former Buckeyes star in the best position to succeed with the necessary weapons.

If the Redskins decided to give it another go with Haskins next season now that he has some experience under his belt, this wouldn’t come as a surprise at all since he is a former first-round pick for a reason.

But also, if Washington truly believed they could upgrade at quarterback with someone better than Haskins, they will be in perfect position to do so at No. 2.

Passing on a star defender like Chase Young with so much potential would be extremely difficult for the Redskins since he is talented enough to make an impact right away, but if there were to be a surprise selection at No. 2, Justin Herbert would be a strong candidate.

Over the months, Herbert has watched his stock rise to the point where he will most likely be selected in the top 10 since there are numerous teams that need to improve at quarterback.

Watching Herbert complete 61 touchdown passes during his final two seasons at Oregon is just one of many examples behind why he is considered a top quarterback entering the draft, but the fact that he never threw more than eight interceptions in four seasons sticks out the most.
