McTelvin Agim. 6. 844. Defensive tackle. Arkansas. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Chicago Bears need to have a capable backup for defensive tackle Eddie Goldman. He is a big part of the Bears’ rush defense but as the years go by, he becomes a bigger injury risk. Nick Williams left via free agency so there is a hole there.

McTelvin Agim could be the answer to that need. He gives the Bears defense some flexibility as he could also play defensive end. Agim impressed scouts at the East-West Shrine Game. He overwhelmed all the offensive linemen who came his way.

Agim does a good job of getting into the backfield with a variety of moves, including a very good spin move. He wreaks havoc and forced fumbles. Since he was originally an end, he has the ability to beat the outside hand. Also, he has a great first step, exploding off the snap and helping him get to the backfield quickly.

He needs to improve his hand placement. He sometimes puts his hands too wide and that hurts his strength. If he places his hands more in the middle and closer together he could effectively use his strength to knock the blocker off-balance.

Agim has the ability to be effective when he is on the field. He doesn’t have to be a starter so he could come in and give Goldman enough snaps off during the season to keep him fresh and healthy enough to help the Bears get into the playoffs.
