player. 60. WR. 16. Oklahoma. CeeDee Lamb. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Vikings trade: No. 22 and 89
Falcons trade: No. 16

What the Minnesota Vikings are planning to do in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft is one of the more difficult things for me to peg. It stands to reason that they want a cornerback given the departures from this offseason. But at the same time, after trading Stefon Diggs to acquire the No. 22 pick from the Bills, they can’t go into the season with Tajae Sharpe as their No. 2 wide receiver to complement Adam Thielen in the passing game.

Subsequently, with the Atlanta Falcons potentially not being big fans of their options in relation to their needs, the Vikings make a move up here to replace Diggs in the offense. They only give up a third-round pick to do so, which may be well worth it for Atlanta as they have plenty of holes to address. Furthermore, the Vikings hang on to No. 25 to operate with and then land CeeDee Lamb, who could be a game-changer in the offense.

The No. 1 receiver on many people’s boards, Lamb isn’t a burner by any stretch of the imagination. Many have compared him to DeAndre Hopkins and it’s not hard to see why. He’s a big-bodied player who wins in contested situations but can also make anyone miss in the open field. That could be a nice threat to add to this Minnesota offense, especially if they don’t have to give up No. 25 to move up.
