2020 NFL Draft: First-round mock and predictions for all 32 picks
By Zach Cohen
The Pick: In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Raiders need a wide receiver. Tyrell Williams and Hunter Renfrow won’t cut it. I chose Lamb because I think his upside is greater than Jerry Jeudy’s and I think he’s more complete than Henry Ruggs.
Lamb would immediately be the best receiver the team has had since Antonio Brown. Does that even count? I don’t know. The point is the Raiders need a wide receiver badly, and they’ll probably wait until their next pick to address the secondary, if at all.
Alternative Picks: This pick is where I fully expect the run on receivers to start. The Jets, Raiders and 49ers all could use one, so look for other teams to try to jump up and snag one. I know Las Vegas has been interested in Jalen Reagor and Denzel Mims, so maybe passing on a top wide receiver is the move.
If I had to guess, I’d say probably not. Jeudy could easily be the selection, almost as easily as Ruggs could. A quarterback isn’t too far out of the realm of possibilities, though I think general manager Mike Mayock may wait to address that position. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a cornerback here, either. C.J Henderson, if available, is a realistic option. If Isaiah Simmons is here, he could easily be the pick as well.
