2020 NFL Draft: First-round mock and predictions for all 32 picks
By Zach Cohen
The Pick: Bare with me, things are about to get crazy. I think the Jaguars want more picks, and what team has a lot of them? Please welcome the Miami Dolphins back on the clock! I think their grand plan is to not only find their franchise quarterback, but they want their franchise tackle as well.
In this scenario, one of those coveted tackles — Andrew Thomas — falls to a team that is very willing to acquire more picks. The Dolphins send their 18th pick, their 39th pick and their second fifth-round pick to Jacksonville, so they can grab Thomas ahead of a team who would love to have him: Cleveland.
Alternative Picks: If Jacksonville stays, I expect them to take the best defender left. That could be Jeffrey Okudah, who would be a dream scenario for a team that traded some guy named Jalen Ramsey.
That could be C.J. Henderson, or it could be Derrick Brown, the latter who has some big fans in Jacksonville, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. The Jaguars are also a team that could legitimately move up or down the draft board.
Like I said, they want to add to their 12-pick draft haul. That haul also makes them a good candidate to move up, though I think it’s more likely they move down. If I spun my magic eight ball correctly and Miami is on the clock here, then an offensive tackle will almost assuredly be the target.
