Scouting Report. 810. Pick 179. Darrion Daniels. NT. player. Pick Analysis. Round 5

Another area that the Cowboys have refused to address with much urgency is the nose tackle position. For years under defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli, the coaching staff operated under the assumption that nearly any player could be plugged in there. While Marinelli did finds some decent options, they could have benefited from more talent.

This season looks to be different as the new staff went after Dontari Poe, landing a big-name player that can be disruptive. However, they can use some depth behind Poe which is why they take Nebraska’s Darrion Daniels with this pick.

A Dallas native, Daniels is a big man at 6-foot-3 and 311-pounds and plays with infectious energy. He’s still developing but working behind a player such as Poe could help him become a solid contributor at the next level.

Pick Analysis. Round 7. 852. Scouting Report. Pick 231. Kamal Martin. LB. player

With their final pick in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft, the Dallas Cowboys address their linebacker corps as they add Kamal Martin from Minnesota. Well built at 6-foot-3 and 240-pounds, Martin looks the part of an NFL linebacker and was all over the field for the Gophers.

A surprise team in 2019, the Gophers were led by their defense and Martin was a huge part of that with 66 tackle and two interceptions. In Dallas, he would provide depth and insurance behind Leighton Vander Esch who missed a lot of time in 2019 with a neck injury.

Martin should be a special teams ace when their defense is at full strength and has the intangibles to develop into a solid player down the road.
