The Green Bay Packers need to get Aaron Rodgers the weapons to win a Super Bowl right now and they succeed in this final 7-round 2020 mock draft.

Since Aaron Rodgers took over at quarterback for Brett Favre, the Green Bay Packers have measured their success on if they can contend for a Super Bowl. And while they have only one ring during Rodgers’ tenure, there is plenty of reason to believe that they can add another as the star quarterback enters his late-30s and the Packers eye the 2020 NFL Draft after making the NFC Championship Game last year.

Though Green Bay wasn’t necessarily aggressive in free agency, they did a nice job in free agency. They replaced Bryan Bulaga with Ricky Wagner at right tackle while also filling the hole left by Blake Martinez with Christian Kirksey. That makes their plan in the 2020 draft that much clearer, particularly in terms of getting Rodgers the weapons he needs.

Adding firepower to the offense should be the Packers’ No. 1 goal in the 2020 draft and that’s what they aim for in this final 7-round mock draft for Green Bay.

For me, it’s too glaringly obvious that the Green Bay Packers are going to take a wide receiver in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. After landing Christian Kirksey and Ricky Wagner at linebacker and tackle, respectively, getting Rodgers weapons outside of Davante Adams is their biggest need. That’s why it’s a no-brainer pick to take Denzel Mims with him still on the board.

After showcasing top-end speed and agility at the NFL Combine, the Baylor star’s stock has gone through the roof. He has a big frame that the Packers front office has coveted but with more ways to win than other guys brought in before him given his athletic tools and his massive catch radius to make plays all over the field. He should come in and immediately take the offense to another gear.

Spending big on the front seven, specifically on the edge, last offseason paid dividends for the Packers as Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith were high-impact players. However, they now need to focus their attention on further beefing up the three-man defensive line, which is why Justin Madubuike is the pick here.

The Texas A&M product should not be asked to be a run-stuffing tackle or anything but a penetrating pass-rusher. However, he’s exceptionally effective in that role with the way he explodes off the line and converts speed to power. He could come in and make the Packers defensive front even more dangerous from the get-go.
