While linebacker is a far greater need than safety, I love the versatility that Tanner Muse could potentially bring the Green Bay offense. Despite his testing at the NFL Combine, Muse plays more like a linebacker than a coverage safety. Having him as a sub-package player who can cover tight ends and backs while also coming down against the run would be a nice asset for the Packers defense.

The Packers seemingly need some more quality depth at running back and Baylor’s JaMycal Hasty is an underrated commodity. While he’s not a three-down player and could struggle between the tackles, his value as a pass-catcher out of the backfield gives Rodgers and Green Bay another weapon they can deploy in certain situations.

The second of back-to-back selections, the Packers are back on the clock and decide to fortify the interior of their offensive line by taking Darryl Williams out of Mississippi State.

Williams may not be a stud at guard but he has a ton of versatility on the interior and should be able to serve as depth that has the potential to start down the road given him requisite size and athleticism.

Round 7. Pick 236. Dante Olson. LB. 49. Pick Analysis. player. Scouting Report

Some would like to see the Packers take a young linebacker earlier but Dante Olson offers some intriguing upside as a late-round flier still. The Montana product is a thumper that can lay the hammer in the middle of the field and, with some NFL coaching and training, could become serviceable in coverage.

As far as late-round fliers go for the Packers and trying to reshape the offense, they can’t do much better than Joe Reed.

While Reed’s route-running and technical aspects need to be worked on in the NFL, the UVA product has good size and speed to do a ton of different things and be a nightmare after the catch in the open field.
