2. Burrow goes No. 1 to Bengals as expected

With all due respect to Andy Dalton, a team like the Cincinnati Bengals can only give him so many opportunities to prove himself worthy of still being the long-term answer before realizing it’s time to move on with someone new.

Even if the argument can be made that Cincinnati hasn’t exactly put Dalton in the best position to succeed in recent years, and the former TCU star was forced to adjust without A.J. Green all of last season, it’s time for the Bengals to start fresh under center.

For months, Cincinnati has been discussed as the top landing spot for Burrow, mainly because of the unbelievable season the LSU star quarterback put together in 2019 for LSU that resulted in 60 touchdown passes.

Like most young quarterbacks entering the NFL, Burrow will most likely deal with some struggles as a rookie, but the long-term factor will be most important here for the Bengals.

Burrow most likely will come nowhere close to posting the kind of numbers displayed in his final year with the Tigers, but at least a selection like this will give Zac Taylor and Cincinnati a new project to build around on offense.

Maybe in another year or two, the Bengals will finally be in the conversation of playoff contender in AFC once again with Burrow running the offense.
