2020 NFL Draft: 20 Bold predictions for first round
By Dan Parzych
15. Dobbins joins Chiefs
J.K. Dobbins is nowhere near the same level as Ezekiel Elliott, but the Ohio State star could end up being an underrated addition to a team in need of help at running back during the upcoming draft.
When looking at the current situation for the Kansas City Chiefs, could the defending Super Bowl champions end up being the ones bringing Dobbins on board to make the offense even stronger?
Rightfully so, Damien Williams will enter the 2020 season as the top running back in the Chiefs’ offense, but just imagine what this unit could look like if Kansas City decided to use their final selection of the first round on Dobbins.
Dobbins has the kind of patience that can work wonders at the NFL level, and seeing him finish last season with 2,003 rushing yards to go along with 21 touchdowns shows how much of a workhorse he can be on offense when needed.
Kansas City’s offense already has a major advantage heading into next season due to Patrick Mahomes continuing to make a case for being a top quarterback in the league, and the Chiefs in general seem to have a great chance at repeating with all the key starters returning.
At the moment, Dobbins is projected to be a second-round pick, but selecting the running back with the final pick of the first round would basically seem like the same thing.
