14. Brown slips to Cowboys

With all due respect to the Philadelphia Eagles, there is no reason the Dallas Cowboys shouldn’t have been able to win the NFC East title last season when looking at all of the major injuries their rivals were dealing with on both sides of the football.

Moving on from Jason Garrett was easily the right decision by the Cowboys since they clearly gave their former head coach more opportunities than he deserved, and if all goes well in 2020, Mike McCarthy should have this team back on track as a top contender.

On paper, Dallas’ offense will have the potential to be a top unit once again thanks to key players in Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, but the defense could be the real difference-maker here.

Cornerback is going to be one of the top positions of need for the Cowboys in the first round of Thursday’s draft, but if Derrick Brown were to happen to slip, this could become an unexpected gift for Dallas.

Between Brown’s explosive style of play along with pass-rushing abilities, the Auburn star seems ready to make a major splash at the NFL level with the potential to see a significant role right away as a rookie.

The Cowboys were already considered the biggest threat to the Eagles within the division, and if Brown were to end up in Dallas, the pressure would increase for Philadelphia with ease.
