2020 NFL Mock Draft, final 7-round prediction: Patriots trade up for QB
(Pick via Eagles) It’s been an offseason for the ages in Tampa Bay. Not only did they ink Tom Brady in free agency but they also just traded for tight end Rob Gronkowski. Now people are talking about the Buccaneers in the Super Bowl and it seems wholly realistic. However, they need a right tackle and, though it might be a reach, they can take Isaiah Wilson at No. 21 after trading down to address the position.
Wilson’s greatest attributes coming out of Georgia are his raw size, power and functional strength at right tackle. He has those tools to be ready for the NFL right now but needs plenty of work still in the nuances of the position. Having said that, as one of the younger prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft class, he has a ton of room to develop and could do so quickly to fill the hole right away for Tampa.
(Pick via Bills) This offseason, the Vikings have very much overhauled their secondary, at least in the players that they let walk out of the building. Trae Waynes, Mackensie Alexander and Xavier Rhodes are all gone and, though they have some replacements that have been waiting in the wings, they need to replenish that group if they’re going to be a functional secondary in 2020.
Where I’m sitting, Jeff Gladney out of TCU deserves to be considered in the top group of cornerbacks in this draft class. Gladney is elite in his speed and quickness but has the footwork and fluidity to excel in man coverage right away. Mike Zimmer is going to love what he brings to the table and Gladney should be the top corner on the Vikings roster as a rookie.
