Cleveland Browns: Mock draft for Days 2 and 3 after first round
By Dan Parzych
Once again, it only seems fitting to bring up the importance of making sure Mayfield has the proper protection from the offensive line moving forward, or the Browns will only continue to be a major disappointment in the AFC.
Going with a second offensive lineman in the fourth round may not seem like the best idea to some since Cleveland has a few other key areas they need to improve on, but also they don’t want to miss out on a potential steal that could benefit the unit in the long run.
Ohio State’s defense has rightfully received most of the attention in regards to this year’s draft since they were loaded with first-round talent.
And while J.K. Dobbins will be the talk of the town on offense, when it comes to the offensive line, Jonah Jackson deserves recognition for a potential Day 3 selection.
In regards to providing Mayfield with the necessary protection, Jackson has the kind of pass-blocking skills that Cleveland would love to see part of the offense.
Even if Jackson didn’t start right away as a rookie, if he were to develop into the role over time, a selection like this would still be worth it for the Browns.
