The Dallas Cowboys made a splashy pick with Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb at No. 17 and now address other needs in this day two 2020 NFL Mock Draft

With several needs on the defensive side of the ball, the Dallas Cowboys were faced with an unexpected decision once they were on the clock at No. 17 overall. With LSU edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson on the board as a potential replacement for Robert Quinn and Alabama safety Xavier McKinney there to potentially fix their safety issues, Dallas also saw Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb available.

In the end, they decided to let their draft board do the talking as they took Lamb over the two defensive players who filled a greater need. Lamb now joins an offense that has Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup at wideout with running back Ezekiel Elliott and tight end Blake Jarwin on the roster as well.

Now the question will be how they spread the ball around but that’s never a bad problem to have. And for those who are unhappy about the team skipping out on a defensive player, the Cowboys could still find a way to address their biggest needs with their picks coming up in day two.

Here, we look at the second night of the NFL Draft and try and predict what the Cowboys are going to do. Currently, they have selections at No. 51 in the second round and No. 82 in the third. Barring any trades, here is how Friday night could play out for Big D as they look to add more rookies to a class that will be led by Lamb.
