2020 NFL Draft: Grades for all 32 first-round picks
The first day of the 2020 NFL Draft is in the books, and draft grades have officially been handed out for the 32 first-round picks.
We’re officially through the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and what a Day 1 it was. In hopes of providing some context for all 32 selections, I’ve put together draft grades for every player who had the privilege of hearing his name called on April 23.
To clarify, I try to avoid giving out bad grades. Typically, I do my best to stay in the A-C range. However, almost every year, there are at least a couple of head-scratchers that I can’t help but slap with failing grades.
This year, I kept my lenience at about the same level. While I was generous with the “A”s and “B”s, while several picks earned the unimpressive “C” grade. There was even a handful of “D”s in there. However, based on my thoughts and the initial reaction around the interwebs, I think you’ll agree with the lower grades I assigned. Some of the picks we saw on Thursday night were just trash — plain and simple.
It is what it is, though. The first round is over and done with, and there’s no going back now. All we can do is reflect on the decisions made and wait to see how the futures of these players unfold.
So let’s quit with the jabbering and jump right into my 2020 NFL Draft grades. Some fans are going to be very happy with their teams’ marks, while others will be wondering what I’m smoking. Either way, these are my grades and I stand by them.
