The Washington Redskins had a busy Day 3 of the 2020 NFL Draft. Does busy mean it was good though? Let’s try to give them a final grade for the day.

The final day of the 2020 NFL Draft started early for the Washington Redskins. They had the second pick in the fourth round but made a move before that. The Redskins traded superstar left tackle Trent Williams to the San Francisco 49ers for a fifth-round pick in 2020 and a third-round pick in 2021. That may not seem like much of a return, however, it was the best they could get.

Washington could have gotten much more for Williams last season, but former general manager Bruce Allen and company thought they could get more. So now the new regime had to get the best they could a year later.

Then came the actual draft. Let’s run through every Redskins draft pick from Day 3 and hand out a grade before giving the day as a whole a grade as well.

Round 4 (No. 108 Overall): Saahdiq Charles, OT

With the 108th overall pick, the Redskins took Saahdiq Charles out of LSU. So they got their replacement for Williams right away.

Charles is an incredible talent, much better than a fourth-round pick. He’s an absolute unit (6’4″, 321 lbs) with great strength and athleticism for the position.

The ESPN broadcast spent most of the time bashing his disciplinary problems at LSU though. So you’ll be forgiven if you weren’t familiar with him and thought this was a bad pick.

Yes, Charles had some problems at LSU. That doesn’t mean he can’t grow though. The Redskins got a player with superstar potential in the fourth. Trust Ron Rivera and company to be able to lead him in the right direction. Great start to the day.
