The 2020 NFL Draft was virtual and entertaining. But in terms of the picks that were made, these were the clear winners and losers.

The 2020 NFL Draft went off without a hitch. It was an entertaining draft and some teams seemed more prepared to maneuver the draft board than others. The lack of pro days and individual workouts certainly hurt the evaluation process for many of the teams and evaluators. There were teams over the weekend taking advantage of the situation while others floundered.

We were able to get a glimpse of players, general managers, coaches, owners and front office personnel in their home environments. It was a truly unique experience and one we may never forget.

Now that the draft is complete, let’s take a look at some of the winners and losers of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Loser: Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears went into the 2020 NFL Draft having already traded their first-round pick to the Raiders for Khalil Mack, among other picks, and their fourth-rounder to the Jacksonville Jaguars for Nick Foles.

Say what you will about that trade, the Bears did not cover themselves in glory or redeem themselves during the draft. The Bears spent their first pick of the draft, No. 43 in Round 2, on tight end Cole Kmet from Notre Dame.

Kmet was rated by most as the best tight end in the draft and he was taken in a fair spot in the draft. However, he became the 10th tight end currently on the Bears roster. This is just an example of complete roster mismanagement.

The Bears did make a good pick with cornerback Jaylon Johnson but much of the rest of the draft was bland at best. Not having any picks between No. 50 and Round 5 is a big factor in this but maybe they should have made the most of their first pick at No. 43 if this was the case.
