45. Scouting Report. OT. Notre Dame. Liam Eichenberg. 10. Pick Analysis. player

If you didn’t think that Denver Broncos general manager was desperate to make Drew Lock work as the franchise quarterback in the Mile High City, then the 2020 draft was likely a shock to you. The Broncos seemingly added one high-octane offensive weapon after another, taking wide receivers in each of the first two rounds, tight ends later and much more. The offensive line, however, still needs some work.

Denver added Garett Bolles with a first-round pick not all that long ago and signed Ja’Wuan James in 2019 free agency. However, Bolles has failed to develop into anything more than a living, breathing holding penalty and James missed all of last season due to injuries. Put simply, the Broncos need to fortify the offensive line in front of Lock for him to fully succeed.

Notre Dame’s Liam Eichenberg is the next in a long line of impressive Fighting Irish linemen that have promising NFL careers ahead of them. At 6-6 and 305 pounds, Eichenberg is an elite mover for a player his size who effortlessly glides in passing sets. He’s got a ton of experience already as he’ll be a three-year starter at left tackle after 2020 and should be considered among the best offensive tackles in a very good class.
