2020 NFL Draft grades for every team: Cowboys ace test, Packers falter
By Randy Gurzi
Denver Broncos
This one is a little harder to grade than most. The Denver Broncos landed a lot of talent, starting with Jerry Jeudy from Alabama. Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb were continually fighting for the right to be the top receiver in this class and while Henry Ruggs III went first, these two are likely to be the best. And Jeudy will be beyond thrilled with the selection of Jeudy.
They followed that up with K.J. Hamler, which was a bit confusing. Hamler is a speedster and will surely make his share of big plays but back-to-back receivers felt like a bit much with some of their other needs. They weren’t done there either as they took Tyrie Cleveland at No. 252, adding another speedy wide receiver.
Just for good measure, they also went for Albert Okwuegbunam from Missouri, giving them a second tight end along with Noah Fant. Like the others selected, Albert O can stretch the field and showed off his wheels with a 4.49 in the 40-yard dash at the Combine. His tape is inconsistent but as a No. 2 tight end, you could do a lot worse.
Denver also took a flier late on Netane Muti. The Fresno State guard had enough talent to go in Day 2 but his injury history led to him falling all the way to the sixth round. If he stays healthy, this could be one of the biggest steals in the entire draft.
Grade: B+
