2020 NFL Draft grades for every team: Cowboys ace test, Packers falter

Miami Dolphins
At No. 5 overall, the Miami Dolphins landed their future quarterback in Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa. The former Crimson Tide gun-slinger was long thought to be the No. 1 pick in this class but that was before Joe Burrow burst onto the scene. It was also before a hip injury ended Tua’s final season in Tuscaloosa.
There will be concerns about his health but should he stay on the field, there’s no doubt he’s their best starter in a long, long time. Landing him without moving up was huge and he will be their best draft pick. As for their other two picks in Round 1, there was a hit at 18 as they took USC’s Austin Jackson and a head-scratcher at 30 with Noah Igbinoghene.
Sure, Igbinoghene looks to be a solid cornerback but the Dolphins are already paying Byron Jones and Xavien Howard which made it seem as though they could have addressed another need with maybe D’Andre Swift or Xavier McKinney.
In Round 2, they ended up landing some good linemen in guard Robert Hunt and defensive tackle Raekwon Davis. Curtis Weaver was also a solid pick, especially in the fifth round but taking a long snapper was weird.
Overall, it was a decent draft but they kind of missed the mark. Tua should save them as long as he’s healthy but they just didn’t capitalize as much as they should have with six picks in the top 70.
Grade: C+
