Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills sat out the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft after trading the No. 22 overall pick to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for Stefon Diggs. Landing the former Minnesota receiver gave them a legit No. 1 option for quarterback Josh Allen and unlike any of the options in this class, he has shown he can do it in the NFL.

Buffalo’s first pick ended up coming in the second round at No. 54 overall and they still landed a day one talent in Iowa’s A.J. Epenesa. He will slide right in where Shaq Lawson played last season and the defensive line likely won’t miss a beat.

They then added Utah running back Zach Moss to pair with Devin Singletary and UCF wideout Gabriel Davis. Suddenly, their offense looks much more explosive and the only question left is whether or not Allen can take the next step in his progression. If he can’t, they might have found a solution there as well.

With the 167th overall pick, the Bills decided to bring in a backup quarterback, selecting Georgia’s Jake Fromm. This wasn’t a move where they wanted to build competition but instead, give Allen a solid backup and someone who can help him in the film room. However, if Allen continues to struggle with accuracy, there might be calls for Fromm which could become a distraction.

Even with that possibility, they got a lot of talent in this draft even without a day one pick. Nice work by the staff in Western New York.
