Cincinnati Bengals

The 2020 NFL Draft was kicked off with the Cincinnati Bengals owning the No. 1 overall pick and there was zero drama going on here. There were reports leading up to the draft that the Miami Dolphins could be trying to secure the No. 3 overall pick to pair with their selection at No. 5 to tempt the Bengals to trade down. That wasn’t happening though as they were sold on LSU’s Joe Burrow.

That was the right call as Burrow looks poised to turn the franchise around. Fresh off the best collegiate season of all-time, Burrow now gets the chance to make it in the same state he grew up — and the same state where his collegiate career started.

Cincinnati also added a lot of stellar talent beyond Burrow. Tee Higgins kicked off the second round and he looks a lot like A.J. Green who he will be learning alongside in the NFL. Logan Wilson was the first pick in the third as they landed a talented but won’t be the only rookie in that positional group as the explosive Akeem Davis-Gaither fell to them at No. 107.

Khalid Kareem was another high valued pick for them and Hakeem Adenji and Markus Baily could also make the team. There were really no misses it feels like in this one for the Bengals. And while there wasn’t a ton of splash outside of Burrow, they do feel like they’re trending in the right direction — and will get Jonah Willams back after their top pick in 2019 missed his entire rookie season.
