2020 NFL Draft: Every team’s best pick – Joe Burrow, Chase Young and who else?
By Dan Parzych
From an overall perspective, the Green Bay Packers didn’t exactly have the best draft this year, especially since they didn’t even draft a single wide receiver.
Aaron Rodgers has benefitted in a big way over the years for having one of the league’s biggest threats at wide receiver in Davante Adams, but last season made it clear the group needed additional help.
In fact, embarrassing seems like the best way to describe Green Bay’s performance in the NFC Championship against the San Francisco 49ers since Adams seemed like the only one who could get anything going on offense.
Jordan Love could arguably be viewed as Green Bay’s top pick since the quarterback was considered a first-round pick for a reason, but since the position wasn’t even a top need, it only seems fair to go with someone else.
Even though Aaron Jones recently put together a career year in 2019, and appears to have a bright future with the Packers, adding AJ Dillon to the mix should make the backfield stronger following an amazing career at Boston College.
The fact that Dillon finished his three-year career with the Eagles by rushing for 4,382 yards to go along with 38 touchdowns shows why Green Bay was excited about this pick in the second round, although a wide receiver should have been taken at some point.
