2020 NFL Draft: Every team’s best pick – Joe Burrow, Chase Young and who else?
By Dan Parzych
The Indianapolis Colts may have gone without a first-round pick in this year’s draft due to the DeForest Buckner trade with the Indianapolis Colts, but at least Frank Reich and company came up big with two solid picks the following round.
Drafting Michael Pittman Jr. will help Philip Rivers big time in the passing game, but when it comes to the most valuable selection of the draft, it’s difficult to top the excitement surrounding Jonathan Taylor joining the backfield.
Rightfully so, Taylor was considered one of the top running backs from this year’s draft class after looking at some of the insane numbers from over the years at Wisconsin, including back-to-back seasons of more than 2,000 rushing yards.
What is even crazier to think about is how Taylor was only 23 rushing yards away as a freshman to make it all three years with the accomplishment for the Badgers, but at least his hard work still earned him a gig with the Colts.
Marlon Mack has certainly earned the right to be the top running back on offense for Indianapolis entering the 2020 season, but if all goes according to plan with Taylor, it may not be long before those plans change.
