2020 NFL Draft: Every team’s best pick – Joe Burrow, Chase Young and who else?
By Dan Parzych
Once the Jacksonville Jaguars decided to officially move on from Jalen Ramsey in the middle of last season before the trade deadline, it seemed pretty clear the team would look to take advantage of adding another cornerback in the 2020 NFL Draft.
C.J. Henderson is obviously nowhere near the same level as Ramsey since the Florida standout has yet to even suit up for an official NFL game, but at least this selection puts the Jaguars in much better position at cornerback.
Thanks to being a key member of the Gators’ defense over the years, Henderson was able to establish a reputation for himself as one of the top cornerbacks from the 2020 draft class, making it easy to see why Jacksonville selected him in the top 10.
The Jaguars as a team appear to be a bit of a mess at the moment heading towards another year of rebuilding, but at least Henderson has the chance to be another key missing piece if he manages to live up to the hype.
Jacksonville having an elite defense was one of the main reasons the team almost reached the Super Bowl a few years ago, and even though this current group is nowhere close to being on that level, at least Henderson immediately helps improve the unit.
