Defensive End. 47. 44. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Auburn. Marlon Davidson. player

One can only imagine how different things would have been for the Atlanta Falcons last season if they didn’t get off to such a poor start by losing seven of their first eight games.

But on a positive note, the Falcons did manage to end 2019 on a hot note by winning six of their final eight games, meaning there is every reason to believe they can bounce back as a top contender in the NFC next season.

On paper, Atlanta has one of the most dangerous offenses to work with, and Matt Ryan’s job will be much easier in 2020 if Todd Gurley finds a way to return to his old ways.

As far as the defensive side of the football is concerned, the Falcons certainly came up big in the draft by focusing on the unit with their first two picks.

Bringing on an effective cornerback in A.J. Terrell will certainly work wonders for Atlanta on defense, but Marlon Davidson could end up being a second-round steal if the defensive end’s time at Auburn is any indication of what to expect in the NFL.

In four years with the Tigers, Davidson proved to be the kind of player who would get better with experience, and the Falcons should have no problem in helping the rookie make the transition to the NFL since he seems more than ready.
