2020 NFL Draft: Every team’s best pick – Joe Burrow, Chase Young and who else?
By Dan Parzych
Due to the previous trade that brought Khalil Mack on board, the Chicago Bears were without a first-round pick during this year’s draft, although this was clearly worth it when seeing the defender’s impact over the years.
After failing to make the playoffs this past season despite finishing on top of the NFC North the year before, the pressure will certainly be on for the Bears heading into 2020 to bounce back, or this time next year could be filled with numerous changes.
On a positive note, Chicago’s defense has always been their major strength, and after the team used a second-round pick on Jaylon Johnson, their situation at cornerback just improved in a big way.
With Prince Amukamara no longer around after the team decided to part ways with the defender this offseason, cornerback was one of the top needs for the Bears entering the draft, and Johnson’s physical style of play will be a great fit in Chicago.
Unfortunately for the Bears, the NFC North is expected to be one of the toughest divisions again during the 2020 season, and if Johnson can help keep the defense in great shape along with the offense stepping up, maybe Chicago can get back on the right track.
