2020 NFL Draft: Every team’s best pick – Joe Burrow, Chase Young and who else?
By Dan Parzych
After all of the hype surrounding Joe Burrow possibly joining the Cincinnati Bengals over the last few months, no one should be surprised by this choice as far as the top pick is concerned.
With all due respect to Andy Dalton since there have been times over the years in which he’s come up big for the Bengals, a change was needed at the quarterback position.
Someone like Dalton can only receive so many opportunities to prove themselves worthy before a team like Cincinnati realizes that it’s time to move on.
And even though what took place last season obviously wasn’t entirely the quarterback’s fault, Burrow is still the better long-term option after finishing with a historic season in 2019 at LSU that resulted in the Tigers becoming national champions.
Between using the franchise tag on A.J. Green along with adding Tee Higgins in the draft, Burrow will be in great position to succeed right away, that is assuming he ends up being the starter in 2020 over Dalton.
Even if Burrow deals with a few struggles like most rookies tend to deal with, at least Cincinnati finally has a new quarterback to build the franchise around since the team needs to give the fan base something to be excited about.
