The Green Bay Packers have been panned heavily for their 2020 NFL Draft performance. So let’s redo every one of their picks to fix the draft class.

It feels safe to say that the hopes of Green Bay Packers fans were high leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft. After a trip to the NFC Championship Game last year, albeit a game where they were handled relatively easily, the hope was that general manager Brian Gutekunst and the Packers were going to add pieces to make a serious push to make the Super Bowl.

However, now that the draft is a full week in the rearview mirror, it feels as if Green Bay completely missed that mark. That, of course, starts in the first round. With fans and Aaron Rodgers clamoring for the Packers to select a weapon for the offense to compliment Davante Adams, Gutekunst traded up — giving up their fourth-round pick to do so — and selected quarterback Jordan Love.

For many, the 2020 NFL Draft class was ruined for the Packers from that moment. Instead of setting Rodgers up for success in his closing Super Bowl window, they drafted a potential successor. Green Bay didn’t stop there, however, as they reached on A.J. Dillon in the second round, took a blocking tight end in the third round and did not select a single wide receiver.

How bad was the 2020 NFL Draft class for the Packers? CBS Sports draft analyst Chris Trapasso didn’t grade a single pick higher than “B” and only three of their picks were graded higher than the “C” range. And he’s not the only one. While our own Brendan Semon offered a defense of the class, I’m not buying it. Building for the future is important but so is capitalizing on the opportunity to win now.

Furthermore, it seems as if the front office drafted fully in response to losing to the 49ers. So instead of loading up to help what they do well already, they got a future quarterback option and then tried to become deeper in terms of their blocking and rushing attack. That doesn’t compute for me as to why they would do that.

By my estimation, the Packers botched the 2020 NFL Draft. So I’m here to fix it for them. Looking at how the draft board fell, this is what the draft should have looked like for Green Bay as we redo every one of their picks to fix the mistakes they made.
