Some will question the decision by the Carolina Panthers to use all seven of their picks on the defensive side of the football, but as long as it helps the team get back on the right track, this is all that matters the most.
For the second year in a row last season, the Panthers appeared to be on their way to earning a playoff spot in the NFC before falling apart in the final two months of regular season action, making it easy to see why Carolina moved on from Ron Rivera.
As difficult as this at the time after everything Rivera did for the organization over the years, at least the addition of Matt Rhule gives the Panthers plenty of reasons to be excited about what the 2020 season could have in store.
With the seventh overall pick in this year’s draft, Carolina knew it would be foolish to pass on Derrick Brown following an amazing career at Auburn that resulted in the defensive tackle emerging as one of the top prospects from this year’s draft class.
It wasn’t too long ago in which the Panthers were consistently known to have a top defense in the league, and even though there is still work to do, the draft made the unit even stronger.
