2020 NFL Power Rankings, post-draft: Cowboys big winners, Packers major losers
By Dan Parzych
Being without a first-round pick this year due to the DeForest Buckner trade seemed like it would put the Indianapolis Colts at a disadvantage in the draft, but the team deserves some credit for still finding a few gems in the other rounds.
While it was great to see the Colts add a young new weapon in Michael Pittman Jr. to work with in the passing game, one of the most valuable picks for Indianapolis could end up being Jonathan Taylor later on in the second round.
Running backs in the NFL can be difficult to evaluate in the draft, but seeing how Taylor nearly recorded three seasons in a row of more than 2,000 rushing yards at Wisconsin shows how special of a talent he really is.
Early on last season, Indianapolis appeared to be on their way to at least a Wild Card spot in the AFC before things fell apart in the second half, but thanks to some key offseason moves over the months, they should be able to bounce back.
Of course, Philip Rivers will play a key role in determining whether or not this happens, as the veteran quarterback hopes a fresh start with the Colts proves he can still, in fact, be effective in the league after taking a step back in 2019.
